A combat open-air museum of the 1st Army of the Polish Army in Mniszew is a unique outdoor museum that commemorates the fights of the 1st Army of the Polish Army at the Warecko-Magnuszewski abutment in 1944. Located on forested hills with an area of 8 hectares, the open -air museum offers visitors the possibility of direct contact with history through the exhibition of authentic military equipment and reconstruction of field fortifications.
Among the exhibits are, among others Two T-34-85 tanks, Soviet Rocket Lerge of Katiusz, Ampi BAW, cannons, howitzers and anti-aircraft plot. Visitors can also go through reproduced tranches, see dugouts, "dragon teeth" anti -tank dams and other elements of fortifications. The open -air museum also has a monument to the heroes of the fight and an observation tower, from which there is a panorama of the area.
The open -air museum was opened in 1977 on the initiative of the Council for the Protection of Monuments and Martyrdom and the Main Political Board of the Polish Army, and its construction was supported by soldiers of the Warsaw Military District. The facility performs not only a museum, but also educational function, organizing history lessons, workshops and annual military picnics that attract history lovers from all over Poland.
