The church of the Holy Trinity
The church of the Holy Trinity
The Church of the Holy Trinity in Białobrzegi is one of the most important sacred buildings of the region, which is a testimony to the determination of the local community and the continuity of religious tradition despite difficult historical conditions. The temple's design was developed by the well -known Warsaw architect Stefan Szyller. The construction began in 1932, but it was interrupted by the outbreak of World War II. Despite the unfinished building, on August 16, 1936, the first Holy Mass was celebrated in it.
After the war, the work was resumed in 1953 and ended five years later. In 1958, the temple was solemnly consecrated by Bishop Piotr Gołębiowski. The church was erected from granite, bricks and iron. It has three naves and three spans - the aisles are slightly lower than the main one, and they are separated by two columns supporting the roof structure.
The interior of the temple is hidden by valuable images, including the oil image of Our Lady of "Grace" and baroque titular images: the Holy Trinity and the holy apostles of Peter and Paul, dated to the 18th century. The church combines elements of traditional sacred architecture with a modern construction and remains not only a place of worship, but also an important cultural identity point of the inhabitants of Białobrzegi.
