Legionnaire Cross
Legionnaire Cross in Brzustów is a unique place of national memory, commemorating the bloody fights fought by soldiers of the Polish Legions in October 1914 in the area of the village of Laski and Anielin . They were one of the most severe Battles of the Legions during World War I, conducted under the command of Józef Piłsudski as part of the so -called Dęblin campaign.

After the battles from the breakthrough 22–26 October 1914 , the fallen legionaries were buried in the common grave on a sandy hill near Brzosłów . In 1933, the remains of the heroes were exhumed and solemnly transferred to the cemetery-mausoleum in Żytkowice .
on the hill, where they originally rested, the wooden cross was erected with a plaque commemorating the fallen. This place has become a symbol of the memory of legionnaires who gave their lives in the fight for Polish freedom.
Renewal and anniversary h3>
in the hundredth anniversary of the battle - October 10, 2014 - took place in Brzustów historical reconstruction , and at the former war cemetery there was sacrifice of the renovated cross .
at its foot there is a stone plaque with the inscription :
"in these lands on 22–26.x.1914 Soldiers J. Piłsudski died in the fight for independence for independence. Measures "
A small, symbolic plaque was placed on the cross tree:
