Witold Gombrowicz Museum in Wsol

Museum of Witold Gombrowicz in Wsoli is a unique place dedicated to one of the most intriguing Polish writers of the 20th century. It is located in a restored palace from 1914, designed by the Finnish architect August Furuhjelm, located in Wsol, about 10 km from Radom and 90 km from Warsaw. This palace belonged to the Gombrowicz family, and Witold Gombrowicz himself often visited him in 1924–1939. It was here that his first works were created, including the debut "diary from adolescence" and fragments of the famous "Ferdydurke".

The exhibition "I, Gombrowicz"

permanent exhibition of the museum, entitled "Ja, Gombrowicz", presents the life and work of the writer in three parts:

biographical : contains family documents, photographs and the first editions of Gombrowicz's works.

self -portrait : presents the author's quotes and reflections, showing his attitude towards literature and life.

world of Gombrowicz : A writer, such as Argentina and Europe, and his personal items, including a typewriter, glasses, pipes, ties, as well as unusual exhibits, such as enamelled potty with illustrations referring to his work. Theater and literary festivals. One of the most important events is the Literary Award annually. Witold Gombrowicz for debuting prose writers, accompanied by the festival "possessed by literature".
