Coloring joints

Colmatation joints in Radom are two water reservoirs with a total area of about 2 hectares, located in the immediate vicinity of the Mleczna River and Borki reservoir. Their original and still the most important function is water cleansing flowing from the Mleczna River before its flowing into the lagoon - to limit the mooring of the DNA and improving the quality of the water of the main reservoir. The system works in two stages: the water first goes to a smaller, southern settler, where the suspensions are filtering initial, and then through the culvert it is directed to a larger, northern pond, in which other pollution is lined.

In addition to its technical function, the joints have become an extremely valuable natural habitat. Many species of birds nest here, including protected and rare - Bączek (Ixobrychus Minutus), Zielonka (Parva Parva) and Dutch swan. There are also numerous amphibians, including Ordinary walszki , as well as marsh frogs , which in this place have their greatest emblem in the vicinity of Radom.

Colmmatics ponds are an example of how technical infrastructure can harmonize with nature - fulfilling ecological, retention and educational functions. For residents, it is little known, but a unique place of walks, observation of birds and moments spent away from the hustle and bustle of the city - a real pearl of local nature.
