Grot carabiner
Grot carabiner
Grot carabiner is a modern, modular shooting weapon system designed and produced by the "Łucznik" weapon factory in Radom - one of the pillars of the Polish arms industry. The history of the plant dates back to the 1920s, when it was established as a key supplier of weapons for the reviving Polish Army. After World War II, the factory was rebuilt and produced for decades, among others AK and Beryl rifles - the basic equipment of Polish soldiers since the 90s
towards the new needs of the Polish Armed Forces and restrictions on the further development of the Beryl rifle, in 2007 work began on the modular Sagittarius Weapon System (MSBS), which today is known as a grot carabiner. This project was created in cooperation with the Military University of Technology and resulted in the creation of a fully modular weapon - the first of its kind in the world. The cave allows quick configuration of elements such as the length of the barrel, the butt or the trigger chamber, which allows it to be adapted to various tasks and combat conditions.
The first deliveries of the Grot C16 FB-M1 C16 5.56x45 mm rifles began to the Polish army in 2017. Since then, this weapon has been systematically displacing older models, becoming the basic rifle of the Polish Army. Until 2025, over 160,000 copies were produced, constantly improving the construction in response to the opinions of soldiers - the result is the next variants: A1, A2, as well as the designed version of the A3.
Grot carabiner is an example of modern technical thought that combines innovation with tradition. The "Łucznik" factory in Radom remains the pride of the Polish industry and the symbol of national independence in the field of defense.
