The CB-49 telephone was produced at the telephone plants in Radom and was one of the important achievements of the Polish telecommunications industry in the post-war period.

It was one of the basic models of telephone cameras used in Poland in the 1950s and 1960s. which were one of the main suppliers of telecommunications equipment in Poland in those years. The production of this model began in 1949, hence the number in the name of the camera.
